I'M A HEAD NURSE AT E VERY LARGE DIALYSIS UNIT IN QUEENS,NY; I WAS RECENTLY SUSPENED FOR THREE DAYS W/O PAY FOR FALLING BEHIND ON MY SEPT.05 CARE PLANS...WE HAVE A PT CENSUS OF 364 AND ONLY THREE HEAD NURSES ARE EXPECTED TO KEEP UP WITH A GRAND MULTITUDE OF EXTRAINOUS PAPER WORK ASSISNED TO US, AND KEEP UP WITH CARE PLANS AND CARE PLAN MEETINGS. OUR REGIONAL MANAGER,AND MY NURSE MANAGER HAVE BEEN CONSTANTLY HARRASSING ME FOR THIS TO THE POINT THEY HAVE MADE IT A VERY HOSTLE WORKING ENVIROMENT FOR ME. I FEEL SUSPENDING ME FOR 3 DAYS WAS EXESSIVE AND QUITE FRANKLY A BIT VINDICTIVE...PLEASE ADVISE..

This happens almost in any Dialysis centers as big as the one you work for. I have seen some Dialysis units hiring office clerks to minimize the workload for nurses on paperwork. Suspending you for 3 days because of not enough manpower is not going to solve the problem if you do work on patients also. If it was revenge on something you do not know, then my advice is here are the things to do on your three day suspension.
day 1- go on a picnic to a park, day 2- go to a gym and start pumping some iron, day 3- relax at home, drink some orange juice and get ready to rumble at work on the next day.

There are so many clinics looking for Nurses that if I got suspended I would get my check and not look back,I would be working before the bank even cashed the check..
