What is everyones take on staff receiving gifts? I don't mean cookies, donuts or candy. I mean expensive gifts like concert o theater tickets, money to pay car loans, money for school loans, jewelery, etc.I wonder what patients feel like who can't afford these expensive gifts?

I have never worked in an area where this was accepted. Personally, I would feel very uncomfortable and think it could impair my ability to be unbiased. Although, I can see where this could be very tempting.

The receipt of personal gifts of any kind in a dialysis unit is prohibited. I am not talking about cookies, candy, etc, that could be shared by other staff. This is cause for dismissal as all patients are to be treated equally and not "buy" special treatment.

Gifts of any kind, from vendors or from patients should be considered a breach in the corporate code of conduct or ethics.
