For months I have realized there is something seriously wrong in my unit. Patients are routinely crashed and cramped when this is avoidable. I wondered why other patients didn't complain much about this. Surely they're in as much pain as I am. I've realized it's because they don't know that these occurrences are avoidable. They think it just goes with the territiory. They don't perceive that techs and RNs are poorly trained for the specialty of dialysis. There are no words to describe what I've been through with these botched treatments other than brutal, torture etc. I've realized that often times the RNs and techs have no reaction when we patients are so severely hurt, because in their lack of training/knowledge, they don't know either that these episodes are avoidable. There are some who do know, however, and put patients through this purposefully. The bottom line is I want to sue. I've been through hell on earth with this. And also when we are cramped they don't even administer us proper care. We are abandoned to suffer this cold turkey while every eye in the place gawks at us (our complete loss of bodily contol, moaning and screaming). I find this totally and unequivically inhumane and want these units to take full responsibility for their actions. The doctors are never there when this happens. But surely they know it occurs. Do I have a case?
I TOTALLY understand what you are saying...i don't know if you (or i) have a case...but i have been having many many terrible treatments, and no one will listen to me. There is no relief at the moment. I am giong to see an attorney..if i find anything out..i will respond again. I believe that it is time for an organized patient group to get together somehow...i know that the senate committe on aging is taking interviews....email arlene@dialysisethics.org. They say to submit your name and phone # all interviews will be confidential. GoD Bless and Good Luck!!
