I have a 14 year old who would like to vacation with his father in Baja California and dialyze in San Diego of anywhere close to the border. He has real good insurance - Blue Cross. Does anyone know of a dialysis center that accepts teenagers?

I would recommend calling San DIego DIalysis Services (FMC) who has several facilities in the area. I am sorry to say that I don't have their number

Although pediatric facilities are geared to working with children and young adults, adult dialysis facilities may be willing to accept teenagers your child's age. You can find dialysis facilities using several different web sites:
* www.nephron.com - see "dialysis units" right under Nephron Information Center;
* www.dialysisfinder.com;
* www.eneph.com - see The List;
* www.medicare.gov - see Dialysis Facility Compare to learn more information about facilities including which ones offer evening dialysis (if this is important to you).
