I have recently hired a wonderful LCSW but she has no previous dialysis experience. Would you give me some of the resources you have found helpful so I can pass them on. I have directed her to this site. Thanks.

Welcome to your new social worker! The best resource for social workers in dialysis and transplantation is CNSW, the Council of Nephrology Social Workers. It is a national organization affiliated with the NKF, and information about it can be found at www.kidney.org or by calling NKF. I woudl ecnourage your social worker to join, and one very active benefit of membership is a members listserv. You may have a local chapter of CNSW that could help as well. At the annual NKF Clinical Nephrology Meetings, there are many different sessions that can assist folks in learning about nephrology social work- there is one coming up April 17-21 in Chicago [information on the NKF website] as well!
