MyOH is in hospital at the moment having lost both kidneys and bladder together with all other attachments and has started dyalysis. He is allowed 500cc of fluid a day but the water supplied is warm so he wants to put some Lemon & Barley in it. Would this be acceptable. I am still on a huge learning curve regarding the new eating regime and am a bit lost.

Not a good idea. Rather make ice blocks and suck on that than sipping on warm water.

Thankyou Kevi. I understand the reason for that but unfortunately can't take Ice cubes into hospital. Apart from the fact that it is one and a half hours by bus and my car is out of action, good timing. it would prob. be inconvenient for the nursing staff to keep dishing it out from their fridge (If it has an ice box). However, I will ask.
