Anyone familiar with any historical events where hepatitis or HIV has 'backed up' from the machine into the water loop?
Thanks! |

I know of no historical events of this nature.
As long as everything is functioning properly, this would be impossible. There are several features both within the treated water distribution system as well as the dialysis machine which would prevent "backing up" of any water or other fluid from the machine to the water system. -"Check Valves" are special one-way valves which close off if flow direction reverses for some reason, and these valves are usually part of both the distribution system for the water, as well as in the dialysis machine. -There is NEVER a connection between the treated water supply line and the drain line. -Dynamic pressure of the distribution system would also prevent reverse flow from occurring. I'm always happy to answer questions .... you can reach me directly @ 440-946-0540 or leave a message for me @ Isopure HQ, 800-280-PURE(7873).
