We are about to be directed to provide acute dialysis for patients in the acute room alone. No Pct or anyone else within sight or sound range in a closed locked unit and mgr wants nurse to do two patients. Our transporter and Pct positions have been eliminated. Help !!

Ask for help and notify someone above your manager. Get support from your colleagues and make sure management hears that this is dangerous and not in your patient's interest.

Hospitals and prison dialysis does this all of the time. As long as someone is within earshot of you their is not an issue.

Totally isolated unit. No one can see you or hear you since unit is enclosed with no windows. Hospital is now mandating 2 Rn in room at all times

What is the response time to a code. I'm usually the only person with 2-3 pts at a time, but If I call a code the room gets filled up quick.
