As I googled details on the gambro artis, I'm poping up on Tekman's post from the technician forum. I browsed "Artis" into the forum to find out information on this brand new gambro monitor (From what Gambro is pushing, it's seems to be a very easy to use machine). Hoping that the machine will work as good as their website!

It looks good ,however check out the clinics that currently use their machine.Water leakage,machine failures ,and the staff always finding out something new to dialyze a patient..

From what I've been able to check out on the web, compare to the 5008, Artis is really more user friendly. On their website, they are promoting the bloodline autoloading, the automatic priming (just one button to be pressed and it's done) as well as as the ergonomic design. Everything seems to be easy Damn if what you tell me is right...

in the moment - no chance to have a errorfree treatment.... 45 minutes disinfection in the morning before treatment. No single needle, no HDF....... no - hmmmmm. User friendly - first look - yes. BUT!!!!! To cruise through the menu is realy terrible. I think we have to wait another 6-12 months to try a credible machine

Soho, I'm a bit surprised... Come to France, we have now many machines, working pretty well (yes, some teething problems, like all new machines, but simplicity & GUI is really good, especially versus the 5008!). And HDF & SN are on their way (mid June for us!). In HDF, their ULTRAcontrol feature is far above the AutoSub from the 5008, not to mention the Polyflux giving better convective volumes than the FX... Last point, we program the disinfection at 5:30am in the morning, and can even program the startup, i.e. the machine is ready to be dressed at 6:45am when nurses are coming in the dialysis room :-)

Is the Artis user interface the same as on the exemple of www.seedialysisdifferently.com ? (In the treatment room). If yes, appreciated !

Yes it is... You can master the all system with 5 buttons, with a clear logic:
- vertically: before (prescription), during (home screen), and after (reports)
- horizontally: blood side, home screen, fluid side
This is one of the most appreciated thing on the machine, making it easy to operate...

French Tech - congratulation. Maybe the french techs from Gambro handle the problems better ;-)than ours. Now we are in very good way to work with the Artis.
