I've been hearing second hand about a chronic inflammation problem in dialysis, but can't find any articles. Does it refer to a chronic inflammation of the peritoneum for PD patients? Or is it a problem for hemo patients too?

Chronic inflammation in hemodialysis is thought to be associated with cytokine release. Use of ultrafiltered dialysate and polysulfone membranes is thought to reduce the incidence of chronic inflammation in HD.

Check Medline under cytokines in hemodialysis or CRRT. I think you'll find there is alot of information published. It's been a hot topic for the last few years.

Also check the ASN Abstract books for the last three or four years. You'll find plenty there as well.
