HELP?? zemplar only comes in single dose vails .I have been removing the ordered dose and disregarding the rest charging for the vail even if it is for only 1 MCG.Everyone I have spoke with that work at Davita FMC other freestanding companies tell me they are using it as a multi dose vails ??I asked the drug rep who put his hands over his ears and said "don't tell me what people are doing??My pharmacy consultant agrees with me.I had read on the internet months ago people were getting sick when someone used single dose EPO as multi dose because it doesn't have a preservative in it.Am I missing something??What are other people doing.?? My company wants me to change my policy .HELP!

The Epogen issue you are referring to was directly related to 'pooling' of medication, or removing small amounts of EPO and placing all of them in one vial.

I would strongly advise you to follow the manufacturers guidelines for administration / dispensing /dosing of any drugs. Talk to your clinical or quality management team about their thoughts on this.
