As a nurse who has recently learned about DEHP leaching from IV bags and tubing, I am very concerned about this issue, especially for dialysis patients who have such an excessive exposure to these products. Is anyone aware and concerned about this issue. Thank you
I found a webpage with a lot of information on this topic. The site is http://www.dehp-facts.com/ However...read with care because the website appears to be operated by the plastics industry in Europe. Many of the links do appear to offer legitimate information on the subject though.

Baxter makes a non-DEHP saline bag. But has ANYBODY EVER seen it being used. The opinion is that something else will kill a dialysis patient, so no worries. That applies to many shortcuts.
thank you all for showing an interest in this important topic. I will try to answer a few questions that I tried to research. www.sustainablehospitals.org is a web site that the FDA lead me to on companies that make DEHP free products. I also think the FDA is focusing on the reproductice systems of males but that also includes pregnant and nursing women who could expose their baby boys. www.noharm.org is a site that also appears to have a large volume of information on this subject. Thanks again.
