I was concerned to see the 2 hospitals in Toronto that were closing. Should we as an industry consider halting transient visits until this epidemic is more closely controlled? This disease would wreak havoc with our patient population. I have one unit in a popular vacation spot. We are recieving transients from all parts of the U.S. Sometimes these individuals show up with undiagnosed maladies and are then sent to our hospital for inpatient care. One could easily see how the vectoring of this disease
could spread quite easily within the ESRD population.
