I know the listed side effects of Renagel and that it is generally well tolerated. But still...Is anyone having problems with their patients' PTH being markedly elevated? Does this happen very often? Secondly, do you find many actual GI symptoms? Any other problems that are not listed in the data? What about its absorption in patients with ileostomies?
Thanks.

I am a dialysis patient and have been for about 3 years. When I started dialysis was on Tums, calcium went too high My nephrologist put me on Renegel, been having stomach problems that now effect my daily life, gas, loss of appetite, strange bowel movements. Is this the kind of GI problems you are talking about? I see your post was in 2002, but I would like to know if the Renegel is what's causing my problems. Thank you, jgutmann@optonline.net
