Hi All,, I am a RN and a family member of one who is on dialysis (9 weeks.)

For you nurses and techs out there who are caring, show kindness and understanding, as well as work under many adverse circumstances, I want to thank you.
Fortunately we are at a facility that is good. I have developed a good relationship wtih the clinical manager and we have agreed to be able to openly discuss concerns. She has agreed to allow us to, with ease, communicate our questions, or to question anything that is done. She has encouraged us to 'be part of the team' and for this we are greatful. The experience with her has been most rewarding knowing that there are those who do care. Yes, there are those who might be like robots, going from one patient/machine to another without any interactions, etc. however, as with anything, or any business, there are all kinds of staff with all types of personalities. It is so important for the clinical manager to ensure that the patient and family are part of the team. Being very critical of delivery of care, I tend to focus on poor care, however, when I see good care, I note it also. I wrote to the corporate office thanking them for caring good staff. Again, I realize there are adversities that make the job difficult, however, thank you all who do care and know what the patient and family member are experiencing. It is not easy... Thanks.

Also, when I hear that one company is not good and is a horrible company, I have to remind people that the company can have a reputation, however, if your nursing staff/tech staff are good then that is wht you should be concerned about. We need to look at that aspect.
