Does any Dialysis Company give their employees a X-mass bonus still? I can't believe that I work for the largest Co in the dialysis world and they are so cheap as to not give us a bonus. I have worked in Dialysis for more than 15 years, and the other 2 companys I worked for always gave a bonus. Now we know how they became the largest. We are made to save every penny we can for them and no bonus. If it weren't for the love of what I do and my wonderful patients, I would leave. Also here is your profit sharing, oops they put them in your 401K so you can't touch that for years also. I wonder how much turnover we have to have before someone wakes up. I wonder how many of our bosses, and their higher ups get one. Bet it is warm were they get to go! I am speaking for our whole unit. They are mad as heck. Input please, and remember I do love what I do, but a pat on the back, or a bonus is not much to ask for.
I think bonuses are only for the higher up, as techs are given more duties to perform without any kind of compensation. I see this happening all over, in all units.

If you really want to get stirred up, go to ihatedialysis.com and read the thread on CEO profits,(no names mentioned here). You will see that we aren't the only ones that see what's going on.

It's not just the dialysis world. I worked for a Hospice company and we received $1.50 each for Christmas.

Both of the "big two" do give Christmas bonuses to my understanding. However, it is your director's responsibility to apply for, receive, and distribute it. One of my previous directors (at FMC-NA) told me that if he filed the proper paper work, each employee could get $25-35 along with a stipend for a "company" party. He graciously distributed both as cold hard cash, meaning a $55 Christmas bonus. While working for the other company (Davita), I don't remember a Christmas bonus per say. However, I did receive many Davita logoed gifts and a small Christmas party. I had only been working for Davita for a couple of weeks at that time, so it may be different for those of longer employment. BTW, I now work for a group of Nephorologists and get a very, very substantial Christmas bonus. The big companies don't care about the lowly nurses and techs. They only wish to take care of the management. As my co-workers were told at a staff meeting after leaving one of the companies, nurses are a dime a dozen. That director soon found himself trying to find a dozen nurses; it took quite more than a dime!
