Dear RNCNN:
The O2 Sat. on the Crit-Line is calibrated against the I.L. 482 Coaximeter. The Standard is plus or minus 2%.As you know, Sleep Apnea is an issue among the Dialysis Population. When patients fall asleep, they usually drop their BP, and cramp. These are the same symptoms associated with the rapid removal of fluid. 2 Liters of nasal O2 given via cannula, can prevent a drop in O2 Sat.thus making the treatment more comfortable for the patient, while allowing the clinician to complete the treatment according to the dialysis plan.
