Our ICUs have taken over the CVV therapy in termas of the set up, monitoring & d/c. nephrology still receives a consult and writes orders for the therapy. several questions / issues have come up at the monthly meetings. would like any input. thanks
1) they are seeing a lg increase in the error alarms on the Prisma machines. has any one else seen this? if so, how are ya dealing with it?
2) we have re implemented citrate for anticoagulation. is anyone utilizing any type of set scales for adjustment of citrate by Ca results and also subsequent need for Ca supplementation?
3) when we started in '94 we did strict hourly I&O. this is being asked for again - are people doing it & how are you all calculating? what do you do if the therapy has been stopped for a while re replacement / removal the next hour?
4) what are you doing in terms of your bicarb infusion? what is the highest amt you go to & dont get percipitation?
