What binders have you found to really work? Which have been big disappointments? What doses work? How do you keep serum calcium and/or aluminum levels normal?

RENAGEL RENAGEL RENAGEL. My cal-phos product hit 99 out of my ignorance and Doctor uninvolvement. An article in the NEJM warned of pulmonary artery calcification from too much calcium, in young patients. I was taking 30 phoslo a day and stil had a phos of 7.0. Within two weeks of renagel, my phos dropped to 6 and cal-phos prod to 59, a safe range. RENAGEL RENAGEL RENAGEL. It causes some gas, but that beats the hell out of an early cardiovascular death.

Thanks for your input!
Interestingly, I have been using Renagel for about 8 months now. It works very well AT TIMES and then my P jumps up by 1 or 2, then settles down again... and I don't change my diet. Also, my CA jumps up and down as well, yet I'm taking no CA at all. My product C*P usually is below 70, but again, from time to time, it jumps up. Weird, eh? WJL |
