I have been on pd for 1 month and have just switched over to the night cycler. I suffer a lot of pain at the end of the drain cycle. It seems as if the cath is hitting the top of the bladder. Does anyone else experience this type of pain and does any one have a remedy?
Thanks

I had the same pain when I started PD, and they eventually did a catheter revision to reposition it.

It's also possible that you've set your drain-time too high... it might not take as long for you to drain.

Dear Dazzling

Thanks for you answer. The cath that I have is the coiled type so isn't supposed to move around, but I may need to have them go back in and tack it up so it doesn't touch the bladder. I will give it a few days to see if it stops. I did have the same pain on the manual drain but I could stop it when the pain started. I will see about chaning the drain time on the machine.

Thanks
