Patients, One of your greatest foes, threats is the calcium-phosphorus product. Multiply serum phosophorus X calcium. If you take Phoslo or some similar calcium acetate product, you may have a cla/phos product beyond 70. This leads to arterial calcification which is a contributor to cardiovascular disease, death. My Doctors never raised the question. I had to put the NEJM article in their faces. My dieticians only recite "take your binders, take your binders" like the Red Queen in "Alice in W'land." I changed to RENAGEL overnite. It's tough to tolerate, (bloating) for me, but it works. In four weeks my cal/phos product went from 99 to 68. Demand this subject consideration from your doctor. Also, if you have experienced subtle or profound depression, your blood pressure meds are a frequent culprit. SEEKING ALL COMMENTS AND RESPONSES - QUESTIONS.
I agree, Renagel has worked wonders for me. I had a problem with constipation but it went away. Renagel is terribly expensive though if you don't have a good prescription plan.
