I received the following e-mail from Dr. Lockridge Jr. Md at Lynchburgnephrology.com and would like to pass it on.
Over the past three and one-half years, I have come in contact with different people across this country who have been supportive of daily dialysis. The major reason why daily dialysis is not done more frequently is based purely on the reimbursement issue. Chris Blagg and I have worked for introduction of HR1759. We believe this is a quality of care issue for ESRD patients. After your review, please write your Congressional Representatives asking them to co-sponsor this bill. We would also appreciate you passing this information on to other people in the dialysis industry asking for their support. There is more information on this bill and copy of letters to sign and send for support at dialysisethics.org. Having 1st hand experience with slow nocturnal dialysis I can honestly say more treatments make a hugh difference is reducing the side affects of dialysis. Such as fatigue, loss of appetite, RLS, Fluid Restriction, Sleep Apena and BP control. |
