I have heard TPA was finally approved for catheters in outpatient facilities how is payment being done ???

My sources say that they have not seen anything in the provider updates, but will keep looking. We're soon due for an update in one of the states we're working.

Some kind souls have shared information as follows:
Some Fiscal Intermediaries are allowing a billing code for Alteplase (Activase) 1mg for catheter clearance. 1mg is J2997. They generally are paying up to 2 mg on each side of the catheter.

The Altplase must be kept frozen, and defrost time is about 15 minutes. They instill 2 mg into the catheter, and either wait an hour, or send the patient home. There has been especially good results with the overnight dwell.

Check with your intermediaries.
