December 18, 2001 - Dr. Koop LifeCare Corporation said it would cease operations and liquidate its assets after failing to come up with additional debt or equity financing.

September 24, 2001 - Internet health care company WebMD Corp. announced on September 20th that President Marvin Rich was resigning to pursue other opportunities. He will be replaced by a committee of four executives who will share presidential responsibilities.

WebMD stock, which was trading at over $125 per share in May 1999, closed last week at $3.33. Here is a 3-year stock price chart.

Last week, Microsoft announced it was ending a technology agreement with WebMD.

Medical Manager, a WebMD company, provides the most widely used dialysis billing software.
