October 29, 2001 - Omnicare, the country's largest supplier of pharmaceutical products for nursing homes, is launching a new dialysis service that allows nursing homes to provide dialysis treatments on-site, rather than transporting patients to a hospital or outpatient facility. Here is the story from the Business Courier in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region.

According to the article, "making kidney dialysis available at nursing homes could develop into a $400 million to $500 million business. Several Cincinnati locations are now installing equipment so they can start offering the service next month".

Here is the Omnicare web site. They reported their third quarter earnings today.
