Stodgy healthcare industry - The healthcare industry has been slow to embrace e-commerce solutions. Analysts say one of the biggest obstacles to industry-wide adoption is system incompatibility.

Is it good medicine? - Here is an article from the American Medical News about the growing number of patients that are browsing for second opinions. There are now Internet sites that offer to review cases without examining the patient.

Drug and tech giants form company - Pfizer, Microsoft, and IBM are launching a startup company that will sell Internet-based software and services to office-based physicians. This new company will compete with several other Internet companies, including WebMD, which is also a major partner of Microsoft.
