Pam Fernandes was a gold and silver medallist in tandem cycling at the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney, Australia. She just received the prestigious 2000 U.S. Olympic Spirit Award.

Sean Elliott, forward for the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, returned to action this week after missing 20 games due to a rotator cuff tear. Elliott, who received a kidney transplant from his brother in August 1999, returned to playing in the NBA in March 2000.
