October 25, 2002 - Gambro AB announced its first nine months results for 2002.

Highlights as reported by Gambro:

  • Strong revenue growth, +11% currency adjusted, with outstanding organic growth for Gambro Healthcare. U.S. revenue per treatment improved by USD 3 to USD 255.


  • EBITDA margin for the group at 17.0%, improved from the second quarter as well as from the third quarter last year.
    - Continued margin improvement in Gambro Healthcare U.S. The combined margin for Gambro Renal Products and Gambro BCT improved from the second quarter as well as from third quarter last year.


  • Operating cash flow improved through strong underlying performance and very well managed accounts receivable in Gambro Healthcare.


  • Net debt reduced by MSEK 217 from second quarter.

September 3, 2002 - Gambro AB announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Gambro BCT, Inc., has established a separate U.S. based company named Gambro Pathogen Reduction Technology, Inc. (PETCo). PETCo�s objective is to be the global market leader in the pathogen reduction of platelets, red blood cells and plasma. Press release from Gambro.

July 26, 2002 - Gambro AB announced its first half results for 2002.

Highlights as reported by Gambro:

  • Strong revenue growth, +10% currency adjusted, in all significant respects organic. Gambro Healthcare revenue per treatment in the US improved by USD 6 to USD 252.

  • Continued strong development of operating cash flow due to strong growth within all business areas and improved performance within Gambro Healthcare.

  • Cash flow, currency effects and very few acquisitions led to reduced net debt.

  • EBITDA margin for the group remained stable from the first quarter this year but somewhat lower than the second quarter last year. Margin improvement in Gambro Healthcare. Gambro Renal Products� margin was somewhat reduced from last year�s high level. Gambro BCT�s margin was significantly lower in line with the strategy to widen its business scope, including expansion of PET spending.

October 25, 2001 - Gambro announced its third quarter results today and several other Gambro-related stories are in the news:
Gambro's Third Quarter Results and Nine-month Report - Today's report shows that third quarter sales rose 21 percent compared to the previous year. However, Gambro's profitability fell with the EBITDA margin at 15.9 percent in the third quarter, down from 17.6 percent a year earlier.

Gambro now reports 672 clincs and 50,300 patients worldwide. Approximately 80 percent of these are in the U.S.

New Function for Gambro Dialysis Centers - Gambro AB is teaming with Dendreon Corporation to produce cancer vaccines. Gambro Healthcare plans to use its US network of clinics as cell collection centers. Gambro BCT�s COBE Spectra� Apheresis System will be used for the cell collection procedure. The collected cells serve as a raw material component in the prodution of Dendreon�s cancer vaccines.

New Gambro Dialyzer Plant - Gambro also announced this week that it has opened a new dialyzer manufacturing plant in Germany to produce their synthetic membrane dialyzer, Polyflux.

Gambro Announces Services to Catch Fresenius - Bloomberg Financial reports that Gambro is moving to manage its clinics locally, sell new products such as a reusable synthetic dialyzers, and is introducing services such as vascular access centers.
