I no longer work in the dialysis industry but I am very concerned about the path that some of the large for profit companies are taking. You are asking for trouble and possible lawsuits when staffing is inadequate, and cuts are being made to a critical part of the overall team...namely the technical department.

When you put more and more duties on personnel who already have too much to handle then you risk procedures which are hurried and unfortunately sometimes not done at all.

The state I live in does NOT have a law regarding the staff to patient ratio.

These companies better wake up and do what is right for these patients before a tragedy occurs.
