MY EMAIL: saketgadia@yahoo.com Its with regard to my mother age 48years are having problem in kidney termed: "RENAL STENOSIS" High BP medicine started somewhere in March-April 2002. Then in May when we were travelling in north india she got ill with complain in stomach ache during our journey, when came home we realised reddiness in left eye. gave her some drops but it didn't control. in the mean while in end june she had a severe BP attack and was admitted for a week in local Tata Main Hospital. She started taking eye drops of whatever was prescibed. then in July end she was operated for DNC as the bleeding didn't stop. In august the eye problem was more catching up and she also got a fever with acute weakness, dr predicted TB so immidiately started medicine (how they predicted was some thing they saw in kidney) she was then rushed to CMC Vellore, India. There they couldnot confirm if it was TB but asked to coninue the medicine (Dr. Jacob) and her eye problem was growing up. Another thing is there is a cyst in her Uterous for past 1-1.5 years its size is constant so Dr. have been saying not to worry its like 2.5 mm i think. At CMC vellore Dr. Jacob couldnot confirm on TB and asked to be admitted for 4-5 days but the eye problem demanded immidiate attention. He gave a clearance that it can be treated at Shankar Nethralaya for Exudative Retinal Dettachment with steroids..
My mom was admitted to Shankar Nethralaya and steroid treatement was given for 3 days. It was indicated here that she might be having systematic vascular collision and NO TB, though she has been asked to continue TB medicines. Then we shifted her to Appolo Madras where Angiography was done and it showed a desease called "RENAL STENOSIS" i.e blockage in main renal artery to kidney with also some affect on Illiac artery. This was seen on one kidney and the other kideny was almost totally infected by similar or may be different kind of blockage/infection. The treatement which Drs are suggesting is via balooning or bypass surgery. They also say thats a very uncommon desease which is not often addressed in this part and are found some times in eastern world like Japan. They are now discussing on how to go about and perform the operation and referring to Internet sources around the World
I would be obliged if you can give some suggetion on this case. I know without seeing the patient and reports it would be difficult but any kind of info from your end would be most welcome and I would be truly obliged.
