My husband has been a dialysis patient for 9 years. He recently started nocturnal hemo. He does 5 nights a week 8 hours per treatment.. 3 in a row skip a night -2 in a row skip a night. We have been at home since training for a little over a month. He is doing well. When he comes off the machine urea is 1 or less, creatine is under 150. He basically eats whatever he wants and phos is not bad for not taking any binders. Interested in hearing from others who are on nocturnal or short daily dialyssis. Interested in benefits of one over the other.

I have been doing nocturnal at home 5 nights a week for 6 years. If you are interested in hearing from other home patients check out www.homedialysis.org. The board was specifically set up for home dialysis.

I started Home Hemo about a month ago. Things are going very well. My blood levels are normal and generally feeling very well. I did short daily for a week after my training ended. I think Nocturnal is much better overall.
