Our company, Vennelyst, Inc. is in the process of trying out the Redy Portable Dialysis machines for use and distribution in the Philippines. The need for the Redy Machines (Sorbent Regenerative Dialysis)in our opinion is consistent with the needs of the country where Electricity, water together with water pressure, and rural situations are common problems.

While we are in the process of having the Redy machine approved in the country, I would like to get some opinion with regards to patient treatment and results when one is shifting from the single-pass machines to this regenerative machines?
I am not a doctor, nor am I a technical person who is an expert on dialysis. My experience is purely on the surface as our company believes that there is a need for the Redy Machine in the Philippines and for the "Mobile Unit" that is being built.

Will there be a difference in patient results when using the single pass vs. the Regenerative dialysis? Bear in mind that all the units in the Philippines are single pass machines.

I would appreciate any and all inputs on the question brought forward. This will help us a lot in determining the success of our venture of providing Dialysis treatment to indigent people in the Philippines.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mel Reyes

Hi:

Am I right in assuming youre talking about peritoneal dialysis and not hemo? How does your system compare with the one being developed/tested or whatever by Aksys?

I probably have more questions, but will await your reply.

Thanks,
Mike

We used these machines effectively in New York City in the early 1980's. They were extremely portable and we used them to treat patients in a number of hospitals. We had a small case that transported the disposables. I am also sure that the machines are a lot more reliable today.
