Has anyone had better results managing their diabetes by placing regular insulin in their dialysate using a sliding scale than by giving scheduled injections of a longer-acting insulin, such as NPH?

Honestly, I've been really bad with that (remembering to put the insulin in the dialysate), I just know that the extra dextrose has my glucose a bit high in the AM. But, I DO remember that the readings were a bit lower in the AM when I DID remember to put the insulin in the bags. The dosage was based on the doctors recommendation.
