I'm a 41yr old pd patient, with 2 children ages 13 and 15. I started with hemo dialysis about 2yrs ago,that only lasted 2mths.
The rest of the time has been spent on pd. I've had peritonitis once, a staff infection at my exit site, once, and a few kidney and bladder infections. I've also had a bladder blockage which required a stint and stones. I've been searching for a site like this one for a while now, and I must say Thank you, it's really needed. I'm not sure if what I need for my fellow associates and nurses, but I know that I'm having difficulty getting started, I mean -living again! I'm taking my epo properly, taking my iron pills too. I just seem to want to lie around. Maybe I lazy. I'd like to hear from you! Thank you for listening katrina |

Geez, if I had two teenagers, I'd want to lie around, too!
It might take awhile to get your strength back. You can't push yourself too hard right now, while you're adjusting to everything. Take it easy on yourself and concentrate on small accomplishments. A little bit at a time is better than a whole bunch at once and then nothing at all because you're too tired! |
