I have been on dialysis about 20 months. Last summer my access clotted twice and I had to have 2 lysis within 2 weeks. Then everything was ok but 2 weeks ago I had to have a lysis and then 10 days later again I clotted. I had my post lysis dialysis last night and this morning I think I clotted again. Am I doing anything wrong? I feel well most of the time and work a full time job and a part time job too.

Any suggestions? I cant spend my whole life getting unclotted. Thanks for any advice.

You may want to ask your clinic what they are doing for vascular access monitoring. Monitoring for stenosis through access flow measurements, for example, would allow the dialysis staff to identify when your access is failing prior to clotting. Also, the monitoring could be performed post declot to evaluate the effectiveness of the procedure.
