What solution are you using to clean the ports of dialysis caths? We are using betadine which does not work on inanimate objects.

My understanding is that Betadine will work on bacteria on any surface. True, it will not work as an antimicrobial barrier on an inanimate object, but it will still kill bacteria. The bacteria absorb the Betadine but cannot metabolize it, hence, they die.
