Nineteen months ago a AV graft was placed in
arm.Kidney function improved, graft never used
and now has clotted off. What next? Doc's response seems vague. Can anyone help?

Most likely, the graft will remain in place unless it becomes infected. If it is not used, it will certainly clot off. If it should ever need to be used again, some minor surgical revision can be done to restore function. Hope this helps
