needle preference-in general is one companies needles better than anothers? Is it more important, the needle or the person performing the cannulation? Would like to hear different points of view!!

My answer is both! I think the needles are different based on the manufacturing processs. High quailty that is consistent is very important. A wide range of needle designs with safety in mind is also important. I recommend Medisystmes because they offer a wide variety and even have a safe needle in the MasterGuard. Medisystems has also demonstrated a commitment to staff education for proper cannulation and access care/use with the video tape series. Check out Medisystems at their web site www.medisystems.com

The best needle still needs a skilled dialysis staff member to proper cannulate the vascular access. Thus, both are necessary for the best patient care.

Anyone use Medisystems needles and have any feedback? MasterGuard? Other needles you like or dislike and why?
