We are currently in the process of evaluating different safety needles. I am requesting input from the forum on your experiences (good and bad) with safety fistula needles, (Hospal Plume, Medisystems Masterguard, JMS Syslock and any other brand being distributed).

There are only two safety engineered needles, Safetouch and Syslock. Safetouch by Nipro permits removing needle and applying site pressure as quickly as with non-safety hence minimizing post-removal bleeds. (and they are sharp unlike sysloc)

We have the syslock (which I don't like) and the Medisystems Wing Eater. I like the Wing eater- but the safety mechanism can make taping a PIA
