If you do Access Blood Flow surveillance with the Fresenius Machine K,OR K2 using their on line clearance /abf software ONLY (no Transonics,Crit-Line,or Vasc Alert) I would like to hear any and all comments about the results.Positive and negative. All comments are welcome
Our Vascular Access Technician collects the access flow monthly along with QB arterial and venous pressure readings. Also, she is available to adjust the needles of poor flows. We use a reverse extracorporeal system. Three readings are taken and average used. She then reviews it with the Charge Nurse and MD for changes. Patients are sent out ASAP for evaluation. We have been doing this for 8 years and very seldom see a clotted access. Most are prevented. Also, any excess bleeders are considered potential stenosis patients and are sent for evaluation.
