My mother had both the graft and fistula done on the same arm. She had a clot, which we rushed her to hospital to have removed soon after outpatient surgery of fistula.
I was wonder if her current problems of sharp pain shooting through her arm, numbness, tingling of fingers, and inability to move forefinger has anything to do with the graft and fistula in that arm. She decided to do Peritoneal Dialysis instead of risking the same problems with the other arm. We are getting the run around from the surgeon that performed the graft, he sent her to a neurologist who must have forgotten to get back to her with her results. She called them back to see what's up, they were talking about sending her to the Pain Center where she will possibly receive an injection (of what, I don't know) And she just wants to know if there are any options for her arm and hand getting better. She would rather the problem be fixed and underlying problems be address and be able to use her hand like normal again rather than treat the symptoms with pain relievers. Please, someone help. |
