I have a level detector that I am trying to calibrate on a K machine. I cant get the LEDs to go out no matter how far I turn the pots. I did try the dummy chamber in another machine and it works. Any suggestions? THANKS
The sensor heads are probably no good. And when you replace them you will probably have to turn the pots a lot to get the new ones to calibrate, since you have moved them so much already. Don't use any steel tool when you install the new heads, since they are very fragile and any prying or force inflicted by a scew driver may ruin the new heads also. Just use your fingers and try to gently press them into place.

O-K I will order them today. 1 more question, I have never replaced a pair of sensors and I see on the parts list there are also an "insulating mica" and a "plate" is it advisable to order these as well?

No. You can just reuse the plate already on it and even the mica can be re-taped with scotch-tape if you're careful not to break it into to many small pieces when taking it off. If the mica does breaks, - electrical tape works just fine also....you just have to make a couple small holes for the screws.

while what "not needed" says is true, it is best if you use new parts. i have reused and "macgyvered" in the past, but not any more. the mica plates and seals are cheap enough, so why not be a professional and do a professional job?

Or you can just order a new housing (complete) for an extra $50 or so and avoid dicking around with everything.

Hmmm...I believe I was just called unprofessional!!!!.....or was it McGyver???Well, I guess I have been called worst!!!! I'll buy the fact that the mica insulator LOOKS more professional (that's why I usually tape them back on), - however, that being said, - they do not work any better than the electrical tape! Also, the LOOK is only temporary, since you can't see it once it's put back together! I personally have never seen the seals needing replacment, -and of course I wouldn't suggest using electrical tape for that anyways.

<Not Needed> is right. When our machines were brand new and under warranty. A big F field tech came in and did exactly what <Not Needed> did. Taped the mica back together and installed the stupid thing. Worked fine. I'm sure the electrical tape would work fine also.
