has anyone used a Endosafe PTS for their endotoxins testing. Our unit is looking into buying it. we are trying to get some feed back from people that have used them. thank you

Also check out Associates of Cape Cod, their Pyrosafe tests are much cheaper per test than the PTS system.

We have one at each of our three clinics. I believe they cost around $3,000, plus the cartridges cost $30.00 each. We bought the three year warranty too. When we send samples out to Spectra, the cost is about $30. If you make a mistake and have to repeat a test, you are out $30 for the wasted cartridge.

The only advantage they offer is that you can have an LAL result within 15 minutes in the event of a suspected pyrogen reaction.

The PTS does not make sense from a financial standpoint for routine testing.

They have a program that enables you to download data on to a PC; but the program is a pain, requiring you to try to copy a clipboard file, name it and file it.
