How old is the machine? I had a fairly new machine, about 1 year old, maybe 14 months ago. It had a bad pre conductivity cell in it that did the same thing. Two other guys worked on it before I got to it and they put in lots of other parts. Finally watched the diagnostics screens and realized that the pre and post conductivity was very different when there was no patient on the machine. That should not happen since there is no dialyzer or blood flow involved. And on older machines if the balancing chamber membrane has a hole in it it may cause the conductivity to be unstable during the test also.

If you have central acid and/or bicarb delivery your pressure is high enough it will push right through you check valves and pumps creating a high conductivity. Saw this on our K machines when we first opened the unit and until I got the pressure going to the machines down.
