For some time now, we have been having problems with the whitish gunk building up in our drain lines. We have tried using the blue liquid supplied by RPC, but that's not helping. The gunk is creeping into the machines and the gnats are bad. I know I've seen posts on this before but I don't remember what the best solution was. We use bleach to disinfect the machines and that doesn't seem to touch the gunk. Thank you.
We have one facility that had the same problem (except no gnats). We increased the bleaching of the machines from once/week to twice/week and put DrainGel in each drain on Saturday after the machines had been disinfected and rinsed. This solved our problem.

We are currently bleaching once a week and using the DrainGel once a week also. Thanks for your feedback, maybe we'll increase our bleaching frequency.
With infestations of knats, use DrainGel daily at the end of the treatment day. Spray directly into drains. Our start up procedure directions say to coat the sides of floor sink, drain gates and drain. Make sure all surfaces are wet with DrainGel. Our maintenance directions indicate the use of DrainGel once or twice a week, again at the end of the treatment day. This product has been very successful in eliminating flies, knats and the buildup of organic matter in dialysis drains if used as directed. We would be happy to furnish references of facilities using this product successfully. Please call us at 800-647-3873, with any questions you may have related to this product.

as a field service tech, the best way to clear up problem is daily bleachings followed by extended prerinse turned on from your service mode screens. additionally, ensure you have an air gap on your drain line as this can also cause problem. if this does not knock down growth, replace drain line and growth should not recur. turning on extended prerinse allows heated water to run down drain line for a full 20 minutes vice the time it takes to reach 60 degrees and the 2008h goes into recirc mode.
