anyone know where this is> The blood path integrity is tested to eliminate the possibility of a blood leak. the drop in pressure should not exceed: 5,10,15, or 20 mmHg?
In the old days (prior to hi flux dialyzers) you used to do a pressure test of the dialyzer by clamping the venous bloodline and building the pressure upt to 200-250 mmHg then turn the blood pump off. More than XX mmHg drop over XX seconds would potentially indicate broken fibers in the dialyzer. Doing a pressure test on a hi flux dialyzer is impossible.
All of these exams are in dire need of an update!
