Just a quick FYI that I got a recall letter regarding a list of Lot #'s that Hach is recalling due to inconsistancies in identifying levels that result in inaccurate high or low readings. If anyone is interested in the lot #'s affected let me know.

This is a massive. A letter went out from our network, but I didn't receive it until this AM. I am finished with this company. The communication had been very poor. It is almost a full page of lot numbers.

Dennis, can you please help?

I was already planning to switch to the strips made by IBT. This just forced me to do it sooner. The IBT strips are a lot easier to read with a clearly visible color change indicating the level of chloramine. The Hach strips were terrible, with the color difference between 0 and 0.1 was virtually the same.

we use their chloramine pillow powder. are they bad as well. Do the strips give you a faster and accurate reading than the meter?

concerntech, I didn't post the list of lot number's as it is quite long. It would be much easier to email the recall to those interested.

You might want to ask IBT for their 510K number for the total chlorine test strips.

Can't anyone make a reliable product anymore? First it's heparin, now this...what's next? Maybe we should stop producing all of our products in China and other third world nations. Oh, thats right, we might not make the 20% bonus figures for this month because we paid an extra $.05 per unit while we produced the product in AMERICA! Disgusting.

RPC's E-Z Chek K100-0106, is not effected by the recall, and has a new and better color block at 0.1ppm. They also have an Ultra-low Total Chlorine strip, K100-0118.

We stopped using the Hach Sterichek Total Chloramine and residual Chlorine strips 4 months ago. I've never trusted them. They were giving us false positives. Been using the lamotte colorimter with the DPD tablets. I was not surprised to find the lot number from our bottle of strips on the recall list.

We bought our Hach test strips from Minntech because they were bundled in with our reuse pricing. I feel both companies have handled the situation poorly. I learned of the expanded recall through the original post here and by a fax from the network that eventually found its way to me.

By they way, there is a recall on certain lots of BD 60 cc syringes.
