hello, I need some help with a K machine. It keeps alarming heparin pump alarm. I spoke to fresenius tech. he told me that my problem was either the actuator board or heparin pump. I replaced both and I still keep on getting this alarm.

Did you try to replace the cable? Also check if there is a small retaining ring on the very top of the gear.Once I lost it which generated alarm
And make sure it is not an operator error(clamp,
blocked hep.segment)

This may hold true with the K's as it was with the H's. After some run time, a couple of my H machines started giving a "HEPARIN PUMP ALARM". Funny thing was, I had no Heparin Pumps. Fres Tech said replace the Mother Board. However, he couldn't tell me what on the Mother Board was bad.

Turned out to be the Mother Boards. Alarm went away after replacing them.

I have also found that the label the staff puts on the syringe sticks to the machine and causes an alarm. I beat my head against the wall for a while until I caught this. No more alarm calls since.

Thanks for your help. Actually the problem was 2 bad heparin pumps that I had purchased from Fresenius. I installed the 3rd pump and the problem went away.

Glad you solved your problem. There is something else I have seen that causes the Heparin pump alarms. There is a black plastic slotted wheel on the back side of the pump. Sometimes this wheel slides down the shaft and gets stuck. If this happens just push the wheel back in place and ask one of the females in the clinic for some nail polish. Put a dab of nail polish at the the end of the shaft and let it dry. That will solve that problem every time.
