I have worked with the H machines since 92 and we have had our K machines for over a year and half and have had very few problems. The hydraulics are the same with some minor changes including and on-line clearance kit and Diasafe option. The diasafe is basically an F80 dialyser which the dialysate passes through before going to the patient dialyser. The large touch screen is far better than the H machine's screen with only 5 debug screens as opposed the H's 25.
Updating software is no longer done by changing EPROMS but updates are done via an EPROM board which is attached to the function board and pressing an update software key.
So far I have been pleased with overall performance of the K

The K is disappointing with gear head problems, kt/v(svs) software glitches,
american heater rod failures,and overall
high frequency of repairs.
Stick with the h machines.

I take it you have K machines where you are working or are you passing on info. from somebody else. We were one of the first facilities 10 years ago to have the H machine when it first came on the market. They had many problems from software to hardware. Eventually they were resolved. Remember the K hydraulics are almost identical to the H. Yes there have been problems the gearheads but that will be resolved. Software upgrades are addressing the the svs problems. Ver.1.28 and pressing the new treatment button before each treatment seems to have worked for me.
Remember it is still a new machine and with any new machine whether it be a dialysis machine or a car you are to have some problems to iron out.
