We use a software program called T.I.M.E. (Total Information for Managing Effectively). The company is called HII (Health Informatics International). We've used it for about 2 years now.
We have a 33 station unit with K machines and we are virtually paper-free with the software.
I think it's a pretty good clinical software package, but I've never used anything else, so take it as you will.
I'm sure you could set up a web-based presentation to see what it looks like and what the capabilities are.
Their contact # is 1-804-934-9370.
You can tell them Mercy Medical Center of Cedar Rapids, Iowa referred you! Wink

It's clinical abilities are pretty extensive, too much so to really go into any detail.
By "how it works with the k-mach" I'm assuming you want to know what the interface can do.
The actual setup is easy, so long as your RS 232 port is connected to the right spot on your functional board, you just plug it in via an ethernet adaptor that the company provides. In my unit this is plugged into a wall which feeds to a room full of "Digi Servers" which are basically routers that connect to a server at a remote location.
But you could just as easily connect the machine to a computer that was part of a network.
We have a computer between every 2 stations and you can access any information from any computer.
The interface automatically pulls across all vitals from the patient each time a blood pressure is taken.
It can also pull BVM data if you have that module installed on your machine.
It will not, however, send information TO your machine. There are some legal boundaries regarding external software manipulating a treatment.
Here's a link to their website:http://www.hiiweb.com/
We do not use their billing software.
But the clinical reports available and the ease of accessing data has been very useful. (Not to mention not having to go through huge charts every time a Dr wants some info)
The new version that they are rolling out with (V7.1) has a Physician Rounding Application that our Dr's are pretty excited about. They can access a lot of information remotely without contacting our unit and requesting flowsheet histories, lab results, etc...
Any way, I'm sure that there are a lot of options out there, and I hope someone else can give you some other options for you to explore.
Good luck, and I'll check back if you have any other questions I can help with.

Whoops! You asked if I like how it works with the K machine! Sorry, misread it.
It grabs all the clinical information I'm interested in.
My only wish is that it would record when a machine was put into a disinfection cycle so we could eliminate manual charting of that.
It will only interface with the machine when a flowsheet is open, and all data it pulls is strictly clinical.
It has no technical benefits in terms of machine maintenance, records, etc.
